Velayudham is an upcoming Tamil action-masala film directed by M. Raja. It stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010 with its photo shoots taken earlier during the month. Produced by V. Ravichandran's Aascar Films, the film is currently in its post-production stage and expected to release during Diwali 2011. According to the director, the story would illustrate how an ordinary man becomes a "super hero".
